Why should you attend?
Now more than ever, it is critical for a thriving Maine economy to support our adult learners. Prior Learning Assessment allows adults to gain college-level credit from work and life experience, a practice that keeps adults engaged in school on a track to graduation, and allows them to attain a degree more quickly.
At this event, you will:
- Gain an understanding of Prior Learning Assessment (PLA), why it is important, and how it is used across the nation from experts at the Council for Adult & Experiential Learning (CAEL).
- Understand the current status of PLA usage in Maine and hear from Maine institutions using PLA in successful and innovative ways.
- Participate in workgroups to create actionable strategies for broadening PLA access and usage for Maine adult learners.
